Munich, April 04, 2024 - With the opening of "O2 SURFTOWN MUC" in Hallbergmoos in summer 2024, Allresto, the catering subsidiary of Flughafen München GmbH (FMG), is operating a restaurant in cooperation outside the airport campus for the first time. The name "Lookout" was chosen inspired by the idea that the restaurant is not just a place to eat, but also an "observation post" with a view of the lively surfing activity in the surf park's wave pool.
The food concept with an internationally influenced cuisine includes bowls and burgers. From morning to evening, the restaurant provides visitors with snacks, a barista coffee bar and lunch for employees of the surrounding companies. As the centerpiece of the "O2 SURFTOWN MUC", the restaurant will have 100 seats inside and around 120 seats on the terrace, where there will also be a bar. There will also be event coodos that can be booked as exclusive event spaces.
"The partnership between Munich Airport and the "O2 SURFTOWN MUC" is not only Allresto's first off-campus business under the management of Andreas Reichert, but also a great flagship project for the region with close links to Munich Airport as a destination, through which millions of guests from all over the world arrive," says Jan-Henrik Andersson, FMG Managing Director Commercial and Security.

When designing the restaurant, care was taken to ensure that it both integrates well into the site and concept and meets international standards. The ambience, characterized by natural materials, is accompanied by everything from maritime pine to driftwood, with the color scheme mainly comprising natural and blue tones. With its feel-good atmosphere, the restaurant is intended to be a kind of living room for all visitors, surfers and families with children. As an event location with a special flair, the surf park can also be booked for various event sizes with up to 4,000 people.
The "Lookout" is currently looking for fellow riders to complete the new restaurant team.
The "O2 SURFTOWN MUC" site covers a total of 20,000 m² and, with its 180-metre-long and 10,000-square-metre wave pool, is ideal for professionals and surfing beginners. The concept of the surf park impresses with its special gastronomy, exclusive event areas and a 100-square-meter LED wall for public viewing.
